BILLY LONG CONGRATULATES SENATOR-ELECT BROWN ON STUNNING VICTORY

"The American people have rejected President Obama's socialist agenda."

(Springfield, MO) - Tonight, in what could only be described as one of the most astonishing political upsets in history, State Sen. Scott Brown has prevailed in snatching the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy out from under Democrat insider Martha Coakley. All eyes in the nation have now turned to this Republican win in what was once considered an unassailably safe Democrat stronghold.

"The American people have rejected President Obama's socialist agenda," Billy Long said after learning of the race's outcome. "Scott Brown deliberately made his race about the President's health care proposal and the President actively campaigned for Ms. Coakley. A vote against her was clearly a vote against President Obama and his health care agenda."

"The dynamic of the political landscape has changed now," Billy continued. "The liberal politics of the last year, which focused on increasing government control over every aspect of the individual American's life, has been repudiated by the people. The conservative message of limited government and individual liberty is moving forward once again."
